When done right, social media marketing can literally take a product or company from obscurity to popularity overnight.  Backyard videos can go viral instantly.  A music artist, performing in a school talent show, can suddenly find himself or herself signing a record deal after their YouTube video becomes a hit.  A choreographer can make a piece for a concert series, load it to Facebook, and become the next music video sensation.  Such is the power of the Internet and social media.
