The Search Engine Strategies Chicago event in November 2011 reflected back some of the trends we’ve been seeing in Toronto Internet marketing as of late. Companies were flush with success stories about their social media marketing and SEO campaigns especially.
Google+ is getting too big to ignore. November saw a 25 percent increase in visitor traffic compared to October, probably due to the addition of Google+ Pages, which lets businesses create promotional pages to add to their search engine visibility. Many businesses are using HootSuite, Involver or Buddy Media to update all social media spheres (including Google+ Pages) from one convenient dashboard.’
- Toronto Internet marketing efforts are gearing up for the holidays by engaging customers with original social media content, including videos, surveys, polls, coupons, and informative, magazine-quality articles.
- One of our favorite Toronto Internet marketing strategies involves the creation of a localized social media marketing campaign. The conference confirmed that this approach is particularly profitable for businesses great and small. In fact, localized social is expected to create more than $2 billion in revenue by 2015. Last year, $400 million in profits were collected.
- After a “Freshness” adjustment to the Google algorithm, news content marketing campaigns saw the biggest uptick in positioning. Google is now rewarding pieces of content that are posted most recently, so press releases, news articles and blogs are seeing big returns for their continual efforts.
- Ipads, Android tablets and Amazon Kindle Fires are desired by an estimated 79 percent of people surveyed, so it’s important that Toronto Internet marketing is optimized to these new devices.
